Qualified & Clueless

You've heard of that old hoary chestnut "fighting like cats and dogs", right? But is it really true? I'm thinking: not so much! Why? Well, take a good hard look at the next few pics and then make up your own mind.
Tara: Hi Jeeves!
Wanna play?
Jeeves: Sure!
Jeeves: Hang on!
I just remembered
I've got an important phone call to make. Must dash, toodle pip!

So, it must be us who are barking as both Tara and Jeeves are completely clueless about the whole fighting like cat and dog thingy. They're not grokking that concept at all, nope not a sausage, poor widdle innocent ickle babes in the woods.

In other puppy news today:

On 4 June Tara took her puppy exam and she did very well so now she is a qualified puppy! The next courses are Elementary Obedience 1 and 2, the first one will start next Thursday. Two weeks ago we started with Agility lessons and Tara can now do a tire jump, run through a tunnel, jump over 2 hurdles in a row (the hurdles are set very low as she is still an ickle puppy) and she has started learning how to weave poles. Not bad considering she's only 9 months old.

And although I'm not one who likes to brag about my puppy (ha, who am I kidding? I love to brag about Tara) last Saturday she also managed to actually swim while fetching a stick from the water.
Who's a clever puppy then?

Leuke foto's van Tara en Jeeves, ik vind het mooi om te zien hoe een kat en hond samen kunnen gaan.

Mag ik een paar foto's van je "pikken"?

Queen Tara and Sir Jeeves ~ two of the "Reigning Cats and Dogs" ~ ;)

Loved the post, and congratulations to Tara ~ she reigns!

You have every reason to boast about her! She and Jeeves look lovely together.

It sounds like that Tara needs a good bragging on. She is such a smart beautiful puppy. That Jeeves is a sweet cat friend to Tara too.

Bragging rights are yours! She's a great puppy and Mr Jeeves is just the best kind of cat friend she needs. Gail

LOL, did she STUDY to become a puppy? Is there another exam to become an adult?! Also, James and Fiona feel Tara has been dominating your blog and demand (their cats; that's what they do) a cat-exclusive post in whatever timeframe suits you. :)

(Of course that should have been "they're"!)

Hi all and welcome to Cats and Dogs Bliss!

* Margo: ja, die foto's van die 2 zijn inderdaad erg leuk, het was moeilijk er een aantal uit de hele serie van 27 te selecteren, en tuurlijk mag je er een paar "pikken".

* Glo: Tara not only reigns but rules as well. In her dreams. ;-)

* EB: it's fun to see how much those 2 like each other; they play almost every day.

* Lisa: Tara is one clever little puppy who has the bestest friend in the world. It's great to see the 2 of them together.

* Gail: Jeeves is the very best of friends any puppy could ever hope for. It's wonderful to see how patient he is with her even when she's a bit rough with him.

* Monica: you understood me correctly; Tara is a puppy and she's got the diploma to prove it! ;-) You know how I love to play around with language.
Hmmmmm, are we into blaming poor widdle James and Fiona now? Be careful what you wish for .... you might get it. ;-) BTW you didn't miss the leading role Jeeves played in this post, did you? Giggle

Really, can you deny that puppy anything when she gives you that look and performs so well and graduates to Elementary Obedience 1?

As for "fighting like cats and dogs" I wonder if the intent is how dogs fight (each other) and how cats fight (each other) -- Em and Sam are showing plenty of the later :-)

Well trained all around I would say! Sweetness is a puppy's face.

Have a wonderful week!

Jeeves is obviously not a bit bothered We had a cat who was more like a dog and when we had Murphy, they spent all their time together!

Merlotti said...

They look so funny and the cat just slightly irritated and fed up rather than annoyed! Lovely pics!

That last picture shows what a kind, intelligent dog Tara is. So lovely to see cats and dogs playing together, wonderful photos!

I really enjoyed this post. My lately passed beauty Mike used to play chase games with Ruby on a regular basis. Always on his own terms and at the time of his choosing, but he truly enjoyed the game.

What a sweet face that Tara has! It's a good thing she's going to puppy school or she would probably get away with murder after a good soulful "I'm so sorry" stare.

Well, I've certainly enjoyed reading the three posts I've missed since my last visit, Yolanda :)

I've not been to Sissinghurst, but I know what you mean about travelling all that distance to see such a hyped-up garden only to find much of it unkempt. I've had that experience elsewhere.

The post before that one, and this one are mainly about Tara. She is a very lively doggie with a great temperament, that's for sure. As a child I had a cat and a rabbit who slept together (!) and ate from the same dishes. I know, I know, they were inseparable!

Jeeves was wonderful not to take Tara's eye out...and Tara was wonderful not to bite Jeeves' head off. Animals surprise us in the most uplifting ways :)

Cute photos! What do you mean, 'a qualified puppy'? Does it mean that it is a purebred that has all the traits of the breed?
