Seductive Bliss

To experience the full blast of seductive Bliss, please play the video. Trust me, I'm a designer!

Tempted right into the wide open arms of Spring is what's happening here. A few mild and sunny days and
so many things are coming up in the garden.
Even quite a few plants and bulbs are in flower, luring poor innocent you into thinking that Spring is already here.
Just look at those winter aconites who are not only flirting with Spring but displaying positively wanton behaviour. Really ladies this will not do! Please put those skirts down, we do not want to look at your unmentionables.
The snowdrops, on the other hand, are much more sedate and ladylike. How very prim and proper they look.
But that Witch Hazel! Bewitching doesn't begin to describe it and there's danger lurking here too. Those flowers are absolutely Medusa-y and you know what happened to her victims, so keep a safe distance from this one, you might be dicing with death.
And here's another victim ; Jeeves, flirting with danger on a hot tin roof. You're a braver man than I am Gunga Din! I may not be afraid of heights but depths get to me each and every time.
Another one displaying reckless behaviour with utterly gay abandon in the Bliss garden is the Budleia. Little does she know she's in for the chop next month. Well, a very, very severe haircut as three quarters will be chopped off.
It's not just outside that a whole lotta flirting and seducing is going on; in the conservatory things are getting frightfully hot and steamy. My poor Agapanthus has been wrongfully seduced into thinking that it's Summer. Apparently she has forgotten there is such a thing as Spring first, Summer later. Seduction does that to you.
And she is producing even more flowers, the poor deluded thing. But who can blame her? When the sun is out it's such an immense pleasure to be in the conservatory with a lovely and warm temperature of 20 C, feeling the sun caressing you with a zillion hot fingers. The sun's strokes (not to be confused with sunstroke) makes your whole body tingle all over, a very sensual experience.
Kadootje quite agrees. Thanks to the sensual overload she doesn't quite know which way is up and which way is down.
Dolly has also fallen into temptation, and is in the conservatory as well, basking in the sun with hedonistic abandon. It's a (cat) thing!
As if you haven't been tempted enough already (please (wo)manly restrain yourself, there's a good girl/boy), here's the ultimate mistress of seduction, one look into those tempting green eyes and you're a goner. Consider yourself warned! Step back and avert your blushing eyes now!
Too late!

People from a planet without flowers (or cats) would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us.
Iris Murdoch, A Fairly Honourable Defeat.

BTW I added cats because for some unknown reason she forgot to put those in. Such a careless oversight.

What beautiful photos you show! And it looks so springlike there. I have a few things that began to poke their little heads up when we had some mild days, but now it's turned cold again and I think they're quite shocked. But it's wonderful seeing what is still in the garden after 3 years away!

What a delightful post, thank you :)

Spring springs much earlier in your neck of the woods than ours, Yolanda. How wonderful to see your aconites and snowdrops already! And the witch hazel with its Meg Ryan hair-do :) I love it!
The Bliss kitties are lucky to have that lovely conservatory where the sun streams in to warm them. It's always a treat to see them :)
I must try an agapanthus one of these days.
We had 4" of new snow yesterday but our little prelude to spring was lovely while it lasted!

Great post, and you've made me want to dg my old Crowded House CD out! Those green eyes are the colour of the jade vine flower. Gorgeous!

Hi and welcome to Seductive Bliss,

*Marl1: het gaat dooien maar ja, dan regent het weer. Van de vorst in de drup. CH is een van mijn favoriete bands.

* Cashbah Kitten: it does look like spring but it doesn't feel it. Either too cold or too wet or both. That's why we spend much time in the conservatory. Most bulbs can stand a bit of cold so don't worry about it.

* EB: you're welcome.

* Kerri: good grief, that is still quite a lot of snow you got yesterday. Here it mostly rains.
It's not only the cats that are lucky to have the conservatory. ;-)

* Mouffe: start digging that CD up, you can never have enough of (a) Crowded House. ;-) Must check out the jade vine flower for indepth comparison.

* Gisela: my little trouble maker is still making trouble but she can be sweet for hours too. It may look like spring, but a very wet spring so far. ;-)

I came over to look at doggy pics but wasn't disappointed to see the lovely cats instead. I thought the darling Mr. Jeeves was going to a new home last year?

My witch hazel has been and gone already.

* Arabella: he was but thanks to the credit crunch (even cats are victims)his new slaves had trouble selling their old house. If all goes well, he'll be going to his forever home next month and I will weep buckets.

Look at those seductive, green eyes! Your plants are all lovely -- with another snow storm bearing down on us here in Nova Scotia, any sign of life is most appreciated!

YE, I adore your cats and your spring bloomers aren't half bad! Those snowdrops are delightful! The flowers here have been tempted and that is sad news...temps are dropping into the teens (F) tonight.

What a nice way to view your pictures, to that lovely music! Blooms and cats, so nice to see this dismal winter day here in New England! Thanks for the uplift.

What a promising post Yolanda! Great that spring has started in your garden. I really fell in love with that Witch Hazel - gorgeous colour!

You were one of the first three who expressed interest in participating in Pay it forward so if you are still interested (hope you are!) please let me know and I will send you something. :)

Have a nice weekend! Kram Karin

I notice most of your cats are still indoors. They know it's not summer. Clever things. It proves they are more intelligent than an Agapanthus (lol)

I just spotted three different Crocus meaning to bloom very, very soon! I'm in heaven! Yep, some sweet Galanthus too, but sadly no Aconites. Bought some but they didn't come back this year. My nameless Witch Hazel is often victim to the paparazzi, too. That picture of Kadootje is superb! Jeeves is a very brave mancat.

OH jiminy! she is a beautious wonder, your sweet Russion Blue with the leafy deeps of greeny eyes!

Like I need another cat.

Will post new pictures of the Hobbits soonly. The "FABULICIOUS" new home I had all lined up for them did not come through. I have told them I will hold this against them forever. :~D So NOW THAT I HAVE FALLEN totally in love with the Hobbits, *sigh* Now I must provide new digs. Details at Eleventy-Thirty.

Blissfully Yours,

Your having the same tantalizing weather that we are. It's so tempting to start pruning things back, but I know better. We could still get some chilly temps. Regardless, you and your kitties have to be loving it as much as I am.

Spring is coming over on this side of the Atlantic too. I have lots of crocuses enjoying a sunny bank. But I am dying to have some gardeners come over to The Havens and admire the new beds Jim and I have prepared in the last month. We've been terraforming.

I fell into those glorious green eyes and I'm still swimming in those gorgeous seas.

I always suspected that after this cold weather the plants would just be waiting to break out! You have proved me right - I particularly like the witch hazel.

Hi Yolanda, thank you for the video. I've loved Crowded House since I first heard them.

Your garden looks very tempting! Spring has definitely sprung at your place, and everything looks beautiful.

The Bliss Team seems to be enjoying the spring sunshine!

Unfortunately the little video was not available any more when I wanted to see it. Well, but I was rewarded with all your seductive Spring harbingers! Indeed, it seems that Spring has arrived in your country and it has "jumped over" our country up to now!
I still wait....and I am so patient ;-) !!!

Ah, Crowded House. I always called them the band that sounds like the band that sounds like the Smiths! (the other band being the Housemartins). Love all your spring flowers (and add usual pouting about weather here). Happy weekend!

Fourth time this week I've seen witch hazel. It must be a sign that I have to get me one.

Mr. McGregor's Daughter said...

LOL -You're not afraid of heights, and I'm not afraid of falling (I am afraid of hitting the ground). I always liked Crowded House, but I never thought they sounded like The Smiths. When I saw your header, I thought to myself, how green the grass looks already in The Netherlands. (BTW, Tara looks just too cute!) Your Witch Hazel looks spectacular! So that's what they look like when they don't get attacked by pesky squirrels.

Unknown said...

All the kitties are seductive to me, but yeah, those green eyes and That Look from Willow is definitely a come hither look. (Oh, and Miss Tara is delightfully adorable too.)

The spell of spring was broken here with colder than normal temps. I can't wait until just normal returns. Your spring flowers look so pretty and encouraging. And the kitties, well, you can't be unhappy seeing those lovlies romping about the house.
