It's October and quite often the day starts with a thick layer of mist. The garden turns out, rather surprisingly, to be covered from head to toe in spiders webs. The webs were always there of course, but the mist caught in the webs makes them suddenly so very noticeable, not too mention breathtakingly beautiful.
Everything is shrouded in a layer of silvery, white gauze bedecked with twinkling diamonds.
Where there fairies at work last night?
Leaves shimmering with sprays of droplets.
Autumn colours are glowing more brightly in the misty morning.
Everything is hazy and so very quiet, it's surreal and
it's making your head spin.
And then ............., the sun appears; another glorious golden October day begins.

An American divine wrote that October is nature's funeral month and that October is more beautiful than May. Gardeners may well argue about that, but they will agree that the sun of their gardening year is setting in October. It's a time for reflection, for judicial summing up of our successes and failures.

Yolanda the webs in the bushes appear to be tiny clouds that settled there. These photos are dreamy, sort of like this time of year when our hard works in the garden turn to dreams and schemes.
Wonderful pictures Yolanda..
and we forget winter is coming soon.

"Delicious autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."
- George Eliot
YE, The orb weaving spiders are my favorites, their webs are so dramatic. Fall mornings are a very good time to find the webs highlighted by dew or mist. Your photos are outstanding. Gail
Great pictures Yolanda,a bit melancholic and beautiful/ Tyra
Yolanda, your autumn garden is truly magical in the morning mist. What gorgeous photos! You captured the beauty of those spider webs perfectly.
What beautiful photos! I've always loved an early morning walk to see all the spiderwebs and dew. You have such a wonderful garden!
Lovely pictures. I find spiders interesting but always forget to take pictures in the garden when the webs are at there most visible.
Beautiful, there is always something to look at everyday in the garden. Mine is full of hailstones at the moment!!
Die Spinnwebenfotos passen wunderbar zu Halloween!
Bei uns regnet es gestern und heute schon den ganzen Tag, da komme ich leider überhaupt nicht mehr zum Fotos machen.
LG Lis
Spiders webs are works of art......imagine the autumn garden without them....what a loss it would be....enjoy your spiders and their webs.........
Those dewy webs look like soft layers of tulle that have been gently laid on the plants. Beautiful shots!
Hi YE, definitely fairies at work there. They drip the dew on the masterpieces woven by the arachnids with their lazy wands.

Oh, Yolanda. I came over here hoping to see more puppy pictures. They are such a wonderful antidote to the politics we are being inundated with right now.
And instead I find this amazing collection of magical mystery webs bedecked in mist and dew. Thank you so much for the deep still breath I got to take here.
We have had a strong reminder that winter is on its way. We had our first killing frost last night and so I spent today cleaning up the peppers and eggplants that were killed last night. I also cleared out the summer's collection of asparagus too. I still need to get at the zinnias and cosmos and marigolds.
i have bookmarked this blog
great blog.bookmarked also
Seeing wonderful photos like this reaffirms why I like this time of year so much! xx
Sehr schöne Photos.
I'm not an early riser most days, but you've just reminded me of why I need to get up and outside early now and then. I love the stillness, and those spiderwebs with the dew on them. I need to capture some images like this from my own garden. I love seeing them!
It's good you have so many spiders making such beautiful webs, and catching insects. I especially love the first photo as Verbena bonariensis is one of my favorite plants (of course I have about 100 favorite plants, but...)

Yolanda, gorgeous photos of the webs...all of them, cannot really pick a favorite. I love seeing webs on my flowers. You've inspired me , next time I see some, to get out my camera for a photograph.
Ruth
Very beautiful and mysterious...Mother Nature having a party with fairies and creatures in the night among the plants and flowers...I love mornings like that! Happy Days to you and the Bliss Teas ((HUGS))
Beautiful.

For me every month is the same, but if I was gardening in northern climates October would be my favorite month
Yes, these little delicate webs are real "work of art" of mother nature. And when it is possible to see all the tiny drops of dew, shining in the early morning sun, it's like being in a fairy tale...Unfortunately these webs only last for a very short time:-)!
Enjoy the last October day!
Barbara
Well, the spiders have been decorating for Halloween. I know people here that pay good money to try and get spiderwebs all over their yard and don't end up with anything as beautiful as what you have.
Cindy
'Pay money to get spiderwebs'...????
Is hier (nog) gratis....;-)))
Prachtige plaatjes Yolanda- net een sprookje :-)
het zijn niet alleen de kleuren ..maar die stilte ...die rust .... mooie serie
definitely fairies! magical!
Make every day count! A beautiful early morning in Bliss garden!
I see you posted this on Tuesday Yolanda - have things turned more wintry over your way like they did over here on Tuesday. We've had snow!
Nature leaves us some treasures now and then doesn't she? Gotta love October. I also love your new pooch, Tara. You must be having fun.
This is how I like my spider webs, really visible so that I don't walk face-first into them and then startle the neighbors by screaming like a crazy person. I'll just look at yours, which are so pretty I don't even feel twitchy about potential spiders in my hair. ;)
