Not Another One!

But sadly, yes, there is another one in my garden.
Another stray kitty
thin as a rake
extremely hungry
but such a sweet little boy
who loves to be hugged and petted
and who wants to come inside ...............
very much so.

But he can't. I already have 8 cats to look after and then there is my kitty-rescue-in-progress Macavity, so that makes 9 in all.

I've named him Jeeves (for obvious reasons) and he came to me about 2 weeks ago. Although he was wary and frightened he did come when I called him and said come! He turned out to be very friendly and cuddly so I think at one time he was living with people. Perhaps he temporarily mislaid his people and they are desperate to find him? I have contacted Amivedi (an organisation that helps to find lost pets and reunite them with their owners again) and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there are people out there desperately looking for their lost little boy. I do so hope that this one has a family to go to as he can't come and live with me. Even though he wants to, so very much. It's breaking my heart.

Good Morning Yolanda :-D

Being such a lover of cats I can completely understand how much this will pain you so. I do hope he can find his way home. I am sure you will do all you can to help him home or find a new one for him :-D

Yolanda,
I know how you feel, this is a lovely cat and needs a good home.
Our Maxi has a microchip implanted. He can be quickly identified in case he gets lost. But Maxi knows his home and the kitchen, where a small bowl of tuna is waiting for him after a long day sleeping under a Hosta plant.
Perhaps you can find a nice home for Jeeves? Sometimes people leave cats and dogs in our parks behind, hoping somebody will take care of them.

What a shame..

Yolanda Elizabet,

I so get this! It is heart breaking and you are wonderful for caring and taking him in. Hopefully the people who are supposed to love him will show up, soon. He is a love, I can tell.

How sad that this little kitten hasn't got a home to go to. Naturally you can't provide a home for every stray cat, but I do understand how awful this must be for you. I hope you find his owners soon.

Oh, how sweet is Jeeves (great name!)!! But how sad...sad that he is homeless, family-less. It is understandable though that you cannot keep him, with such a large kitty-cat family already. I hope and pray he will be found a new home soon, or that his owners have been missing him and claim him soon...((HUGS))

OH YE, he is so handsome and sweet. Maybe he will remember where his family lives? Your kindness is legendary, we applaud you.

Dear Yolanda....you have my heartfelt sympathy....I am a dog lover, at one stage I had four.....my little terrier was thrown out on the streets, and was desparate for a loving home....BUT there does come a time when you have to say no...sad but true.....

stay strong, with your help he will find the lap he is looking for.....

my little dog now has a warm fire to snuggle in front of in the winter and my gardens to run all summer......

Let us know what happens to the little boy.....

It's too bad you can't keep him, but you have more than done your share for the kitties, and you are giving him great kindness now. I hope they are able to find his owners. I took in a kitty that looked very much like him a number of years ago. She was a cat cat, and everything was on her terms, but we loved her for about 7 or 8 years before we lost her to illness. I still think of her every time I sit on my screened porch - we lost her before we got it finished, and she would have loved it so.

I hope things work out for your Jeeves. You are a kitty guardian angel for sure.

Yolanda, they know where a kind-hearted woman lives! I love Jeeves' little face. He reminds me of a black and white kitty I met on my walk last night. Such a friendly fellow arching everywhichway for a pet and scratch behind the ears.

Oh that sweet face. I see him talking to you in the one picture. I think you are very strong to be able to resist that sweet face. I am sure when he gets a little meat on his bones someone will want this handsome cat. He is lucky to have found you.

Jeeves is very, very handsome, he is! And I know exactly how you feel. You know we've had one here, too. Two, actually, but one in particular, who looks as if he will become a part of the kitty family here. These poor creatures just want to eat, sleep, and have someone to love and love them back.

They know Yolanda, they just know where there are cat lovers!
He could be Jakes brother!
Do they have microchipping over your way?

How sad that this beautiful boy is homeless. Too often people abandon cats & then they have kittens & pretty soon there's a whole population of feral cats in the neighborhood. Some suburbs near me have taken to trapping them. I wish all pet owners were responsible people.

Jeeves is a handsome kitty and he looks like he has is at home. I hope someone loving comes looking for him, but he seems content in your garden. Hugs to you for having such a big heart.

Hello Yolanda I fully understand when you say no more! . I adore the cats, today I have only eight, because my neighbors have killed two. But I try to be with them and care, I work all day in an office and only in the afternoon to see them get home. I also have two cats adoptive, are a neighbor, but no reason was because they live in my house ha ha. I think I have a huge heart to receive and give love. Greetings from Chile. Mariella

What a precious baby! It does sound like he's gotten disconnected from his family. I wonder if his family tried to move him and he has tried to go back "home" and got lost in the process? Regardless, I applaude you for being his steward until he can find his family again.

The word is out about your kitty castle! Why wouldn't one want to live there! He is a beauty and hopefully you will find him a good home where he can be king!

Dear Yolanda,
Another kitty... hmmm... he is sweet - they always are! and you have a good heart. Hopefully his family will find him... but what if not? Maybe somebody looks for kitty?

Hello Yolanda, this would be very difficult for me as well. Jeeves is really a cute fellow! I hope he will find his family again.

I can empathise with your predicament, dear Yolanda, for that is how I came to be looking after our strays...except ours 'belong' to neighbours who arrived here a few years ago now, with seven cats and seven dogs. I have fed and watered and paid vet bills for five of their original seven cats.

The problem is that they were left to roam every day ...and night...and came stealing cat food from our kitchen, and begging to be looked after.

No amount of friendly conversation would sway the neighbours to be more responsible. I made it clear I didn't want any more cats as I had three of my own at that point...but, the poor cats came to my door and begged every day for months on end.

I was demented seeing them soaking in the rain, huddled against the barn windows, shivering in the snow, limping with bitten paws, and very, very hungry.

Eventually I made homes for them in the barn and asked if I could feed them because my heart was breaking looking at my well-fed kitties and those five starving, skinny specimens.

When we went on holiday my sister came and fed them all each day. Then, first one, then a second, were killed on the road when we were away on holiday. One day Titch came no more, so I'm presuming he died.

We still have Taz and Cookie who have always lived in the barn....and the neighbours have recently acquired two new kittens...

I'm glad I asked if I could feed them as it was so difficult to see them on such a regular basis and watch them go hungry and be so badly neglected by their 'casual' owners.

I hope you find a solution which is a happy one for Jeeves and you :)

I understand that this is breaking your heart. What a sweet boy he is! And he looks so handsome in a black suit. I hope his family will find him, maybe they are crying the hearts out over him.

PS I think I will buy Rosemary & Thyme. It will be cosy watching them in winter.

I hope by now Jeeves has been reunited with his people, but I guess the odds of that are remote. You are very kind to take in strays.

Animals always know. I'll bet every critter in the neighborhood knows that your yard is a safe haven. This morning we had the sad experience of finding our upstairs neighbor's kitten dead on the street in front of the house. This kttten had on multiple occasions found a way into our yard and our apartment. At the time we thought the right thing was to return it to its owners. Now I'm not so sure... I hope your story has a happier ending than mine.

I do hope he has people who are looking for him. I understand how situations like this tug at the heart strings.

He is such a handsome boy, and reminds me so much of Charlie, my gorgeous tuxedo boy who passed away last October. Charlie had been left behind by neighbours. I do miss him so.

Best of luck in helping this little man out >^.^<
