Nine!

That's what my lovely Russian Blue girl Delia is today.
It doesn't seem all that long ago when she was like this, teapot sized. And now look at her.
Here Delia is with her son Merlin. I was making the bed so the cushions where on the floor and when I wanted to put them back on the bed I found they had been claimed by my delightful dynamic duo.
So I rushed out to get my camera and started taking pics. And action!
Very lovey-dovey, aren't they?
They are inseparable, just like Delia once was with her brother Delius. It was quite a wrench to separate Delius and Delia when the time came for Delius to go to his new home with a good friend of mine
Delia and Delius

It was often difficult for me to say goodbye to the kittens when they went to their forever homes, especially in this case. But, as luck would have it, Delia found the new love of her life in her son Merlin, as Delius has in his daughter.

Here Delia is with Merlin (who else?) for a spot of synchronized snoozing.
Getting a wash,
and a cuddle.
Happy birthday, my darling girl, not forgetting your brother Delius, and many happy returns on the day.

In other news today:
The heatwave is long gone, we've had days filled with rain and the temperature dropped to a very chilly 14 C on some days. Today it's better with temperatures around 20 to 24 C, which is normal for high summer. We're all glad the heatwave is over but we are, at least Tara is, suffering from a different kind of heat. Poor girl.
Tara, not a puppy anymore.

  3. I saw many happy sibblings snuggling together this past weekend -- so sweet to Delia and her son Merlin. Does this breed form particularly close family relationships?

  7. First of all congratulations to Delia! :) So you have rain as well? We do but it's okay!

Your comment in Swedish was perfect (you got talent!). :) I was a bit lazy and stressed when writing that post so I never translated it. Will be better next time!

Hebben een mooie weken! (hope that was correct) Kram!

  8. I'm glad your temperatures are back to normal. When you're not used to such heat, it seems even worse. Tara appears to know she looks silly. Maybe you should get her a T shirt to complete the outfit. ;^)

  12. Just out of interest: how many kute kitty photographs do you have?
Assuming that there are (to my knowledge) 16,000 cats in your house. Each one must have been photographed in different combinations about 437 million times.
Therefore I am guessing somewhere in the region of seven trillion pictures.

(Plus another 17,000,000 of Tara - so far).

  13. Oh my. Tara is now a woman, panty wearing woman even. Poor thing. Do dogs go through menopause? Delia and Merlin are divine. I love how affectionate they are. Kitty would feel right at home, maybe. :-)

  17. Happy birthday to Delia! It is so sweet to see cats that love each other. Years ago I had a pair of calico sisters that acted like that, but lately there hasn't been much harmony at the Havens. And now Smokey is an "only cat" curmudgeon, so elderly and crotchety I hesitate to inflict a kitten on him. So he rules the roost (and poor Ruby) with an iron paw.

Poor Tara. Tell her it will be over soon.

  22. Oh my! Your sweetie is only a couple of months older than Dexter and Dee Dee! Isn't it amazing how times flies? It doesn't seem like 9 years could have gone by already.

Geburtstag feiert ...
Aber was schreibe ich da, bei all' Deinen lieben Mitbewohnern.
Wir wünschen Euch noch viele schöne gemeinsame Jahre!
    Liebe Grüße
    Silke & Wolfgang

  29. I'm late, but still wanted to wish Delia a happy birthday! Three of the kitties at Our Little Acre are having their fifth birthdays this month - Boo, Baby, and Luna - all rescued from a muddy field in 2004. Actually, since we figured they were about three weeks old when we found them, they were probably born in July. Oh well!

Delia reminds me so much of our own Jilly - the Russian Blue wannabe! Jilly, who never shuts up her talking, except when she's eating or sleeping. LOL!
